Today, I received a letter from Mr Rickman's assistant as a reply to my enquiry about his plans concerning plays in the near future. It says:

Dear Ulrike,

Thank you for your letter regarding Alan Rickman, I am sorry for the delay in replying.

I'm sorry but What's On Stage has made an error. Mr Rickman, as you rightly know, will be directing My Name Is Rachel Corrie at the Royal Court from 11-29th October. He does not have any plans to direct another play this year. Please forgive the delay in responding to your query but Mr Rickman is currently filming in Spain and I wanted to check with him personally before I send this reply. I'm afraid for the time being Mr Rickman doesn't have any plans to return to the stage as his film work is keeping him pretty busy. That is not to say he will never appear in another play but for now I don't have anything specific in the immediate future.
