Murder By Death

by Lies

When five famous detectives are invited to “Dinner and Murder” by a certain Mr. Lionel Twain, not one of them hesitates to put his or her detective skills to the test. When, days later, all five, each along with one companion, arrive at said gentleman’s bizarre mansion, though, things don’t turn out exactly the way they expected them to…

In this hilarious crime story of spinning rooms, deaf maids, blind butlers and false identities, only one thing is sure; that nothing is really what it seems. Rooms may appear and disappear, and so may dead bodies, many solutions are proposed and cast off again- yet only one person turns out to be the murderer- if there ever was a murder to start with, that is.

Dame Maggie, performing the part of the glamorous Mrs Dora Charleston- wife to an American detective- once more manages to come out of the movie as easily the funniest character of them all. Without pushing any joke or line too far, she delivers her many hilarious one-liners with expertise and all the wit she’s become rightfully well-known for.

Plus, of course, she looks absolutely stunning in that pretty white dress.
